Eschscholzia californica
California Poppy is native to the western United States. The flowers are four petals, each petal up to two inches long. California poppy will generally flower in temperatures over eighty degrees.
The plant is considered invasive. Classification: Annual, may reseed itself. Height: 15 inches Sow: Fall (where winters are mild) or Early Spring, 1/2 inch deep Hardy in Zones 6 through 10. Prefers full light, cool temperatures and water sparingly. Trim blooms after they fade. Drought-tolerant, prefers poor soil. Will not flower in over-fertilized soil.
