Anethum graveolens

Dill leaves, also know as dill weed, is a versatile herb.  Dill is used in cooking to flavor many different foods.  Dill seed is used as a spice.

Classification: Self-seeding Annual

Make successive sowings of dill two to four weeks apart for harvest throughout the summer.  Dill does not easily take to transplanting.

If you are saving seeds, only one species of dill should be planted as they can easily hybridize by cross-pollination.  Also, should not be planted near fennel as they can easily hybridize with dill as well.

Hardy in Zones 8 to 10.
