Today was definitely a busy day in the greenhouse. I had a lot of cleanup to do with the damaged plants. Many of the tomatoes and peppers just could not be saved, so they made their journey to the compost bin. The cannas survived, but they don't look too pretty right now. There is all kind of new growth on them so I expect they will do fine. |

| With everything that has been going on in the greenhouse, such as the
struggle to maintain the heat overnight and below freezing temperatures
damaging the plants, I was quick surprised to find this flower shoot on
one of the Amaryllis bulbs!

Well, a small disaster occurred in the greenhouse. One of the panels popped up in the roof of the greenhouse and we had a cold night that the temperature in the greenhouse dropped to thirty degrees! My poor plants. My sweet pepper plants and cucumbers were NOT happy. The cucumbers look like they won't make it... I supposed I will just have to grow more!
We fixed the roof and I siliconed every little nook and cranny -- we'll see how that does! I am also adding more thermal mass so that should help with the temperature swings at night. | New Winter Arrangement | |

| For the past few weeks, I have been watching for blossoms on the honeydew vine.
Every time I had a female blossom, there were no male flowers to be found. Last Tuesday, I finally had both at the same time and able to pollinate.

| Today was just another windy day in Southern Nevada, this time it took out one of the louvers from my greenhouse. Looks like I will be asking Santa for metal louvers! | Shutter Damage | |
