September 2009 Bloom Day

Scarlet SageJoining in on the tradition started by May Dreams Gardens Blog, the 15th of every month is Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day.

I had a fun surprise waiting for me in the greenhouse.  The scarlet sage that I have been growing for the landscape bloomed!  The plant is still too young to bloom, I'd rather plant grew larger first.  So I ended up trimming the bloom stalk, but not before I snapped a picture of it.

Sages seem to have a mind of their own, literally coming up blooming. Happy Bloom day.

Those scarlet sages are quite something, aren't they? My sister has some in her garden and they're striking. Happy gardening!

Congratulations! I've noticed those kinds of salvia seem to bloom very young. I've had Salvia 'Coral Nymph' that's only 3 inches tall bloom. Guess that's one reason I love salvias so much!
